Linda Sue (McNeely) Reed passed away, Friday, October 19 at Baylor Scott Medical Center - Waxahachie. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27 at 3:00 pm in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home located in Waxahachie. Visitation with the family will be held before the service starting at 1:00 pm. Interment will be planned for a later date. Linda Sue will be cremated and part of her ashes will be buried at a later date with her late husband Eddy and the rest of her ashes will be kept with Craig and Cindy and their families.
Linda Sue was born on August 1, 1941 in Bynum, Texas to Ray and Jewel (Johnson) McNeely. She grew up in Hillsboro and was a member of the class of 1959. She attended beautician school and began a career as a beautician. During the time she worked at Texas Instruments she moved to Waxahachie. In 1965 she met Eddy L. Reed and on March 1, 1969 they married in Hillsboro, Texas. They were married 47 years and 8 months before Linda became a widow. Together Eddy and Linda started Reed Trucking Company in 1970 and owned and operated it for 30 years hauling insulation for Owens Corning in Waxahachie. Linda Sue became a stay at home Mom after the born of Craig and Cindy while always staying behind the scenes helping Eddy and Reed Trucking Company. She loved her life and her children and was always involved in their activities. Linda Sue was the Room Mom, Sports Mom, Cheer Mom and coached several Pee-Wee cheerleading squads. Linda Sue was greatly involved in many community and school related activities over the years. She was devoted to Eddy and her children and always willing to give her time to help at any activity she was needed. Together with Eddy, they have been recognized for their willingness to always help by many as well as the Tarleton State University Plowboys for their dedication and willingness to always help. She participated in many parades alongside of Eddy by hauling football team and others through the years. Linda loved her family and friends. She had a true servant heart and was always willing to be a friend or "Mom" to anyone who needed her. She never met a stranger and cared about everyone she met. Linda Sue loved her children as well as her grandchildren. Her hobby was playing the Texas Lottery.
Linda Sue is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Eddy; her parents, Ray McNeely and Jewel McNeely; her brothers Floyd McNeely and Jimmy McNeely; her mother-in-law Frankie Reed and stepfather-in-law Joe Padgett; and brother-in-law Billy Tom Reed. Linda Sue is survived by one son, Craig L. Reed wife Kelli, one daughter, Cindy S. Reed Wiedemann husband Jonathan, both of Waxahachie. Six grandchildren; Carissa L. Reed of Lindale, Kalie J., Caislea K. and Karlyn J Reed all of Waxahachie, Chanlee Sue Wiedemann of Waxahachie and Mackenzie Wiedemann of Duncanville. One sister-in-law, Beth Reed of Waco; one aunt, Frances Craig of Hillsboro; one special niece, Belinda Kay Wiginton husband Bill of Arlington; several nieces and nephews; many cousins and friends.
