Linda Pogue

Linda Ballard Pogue, of Waxahachie, Texas went home to be with the Lord at her residence with her daughters and brother at her side. She was born on March 09, 1938 in Long Branch, Texas to Cecil and Ruby Sandeford Ballard. Linda was primarily a housewife who raised her children at home. Linda always thought of others before herself. Linda loved to worship and was active in many church activities. She had a special love for children and taught Sunday School for 25 years with her long time best friend and neighbor, Kay Freeman. She also volunteered for The American Cancer Society and The County Health Department. She was privileged to travel on a mission trip for orphaned children in Estonia. Linda was a member of the Creekside Church of Christ. Linda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dwight Pogue and survived by daughters, Tana Floyd of Waxahachie, Texas, Marti and her husband Robert Walsleben of Sarasota, Florida, her grandchildren, Jacob Miller, Blacey Turk and her fiancé Bill Bailey and Molli and Maddi Walsleben and three great grandchildren, Daemeon, Serena and Malakai Miller. She is also survived by her brother, Layne Ballard and wife Melissa of Waxahachie, Texas. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 08, 2014 at the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dalvin Hampton officiating. Interment will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Ballard, Dan Ballard, Chuck Ballard, Luke Ballard, Kyle Ballard, Robert Walsleben and Jacob Miller. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Creekside Church of Christ in Midlothian, Texas.
