Linda Fay McKown went to be in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2015 at 10:10 am, in Waxahachie, Texas at the age of 63. The Lord called her to her heavenly home with her husband Melton McKown, son Mark and sister Theresa at her bedside. Linda is survived by husband, Melton E.McKown of Red Oak, Texas; son, Mark E. McKown (Vicky) of Casner, Illinois; mother, Joyce M. Lohrstorfer of Decatur, Illinois; special daughter, Dawn Townsend, Grapevine, Texas; loving sister, Theresa Bowser (Samuel) of Decatur, Illinois; brothers, Charles Lohrstorfer (Nancy) of Decatur, Illinois; Fred Lohrstorfer (Beth) of Decatur, Illinois; Tim Lohrstorfer, (Suzanne) of Indianapolis, Indiana. Special aunts, Juanita F. Larry, Mary Hipsher of Decatur, Illinois, Janice Arvin (Jerry) of San Diego, California; uncle, Carroll Larry of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Grandchildren: Mandy, Lindsey, Mike, and Amanda. Great-grandchildren: Bailey, Brooklyn, Chase, Raimi, Kiley and Madison. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Linda is preceded in death by her father, Charles F. Lohrstorfer; grandmother, Carmen J. Larry; father-in-law, Glenn E. McKown; mother-in-law, Betty M. McKown; sister-in-law, Kathy R. Davidson. Linda was born on February 12, 1952 in Marysville, California to Chuck and Joyce Lohrstorfer. She attended St. Patrick Grade School and Stephen Decatur High School in Decatur, Illinois. Linda married Melton on May 3, 1968. Linda was married to the love of her life and together they shared 47 blessed years. After moving to Dallas, Texas in 1979, Linda taught in several Christian schools and in 2009, along with her husband, had a calling to serve the Lord. Together they started Linda's Heavenly Doves; she raised white doves and had a beautiful dove release ministry in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She prayed that "people will witness the majesty and purity of God's creations as the doves ascend to the heavens on their flight home." A celebration of Linda's life is scheduled for August 6, 2015, at The Oaks Fellowship in Red Oak, Texas, from 5-7:00 pm with a dove release at 6:30 pm. Pastor Brian will officiate the ceremony.
