Linda K. Lowry of Red Oak, Texas passed away peacefully into the arms of her Christ on October 9, 2011. She was born on May 13, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to parents HC and Mary Lou Akins of Miller Grove, Texas. Linda is survived by her husband Jerry Lowrey of 34 years; her sons, Michael Anthony, wife Tammy, Michael Lowrey, wife Belinda, Mark Lowrey, wife Patty, John Paul Lowrey, wife Veronica; her daughters, Dena Brashear and husband, John, Amy Reeves and husband, Rick and Alyssa Washington; 26 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her parents; her sister, Carol Dunn and husband, Billy; and two nieces. Linda was employed for 30 years with the US Postal Service, retiring in 2007. Linda was instrumental in helping her husband start three churches; spent 30 years delivering bibles in foreign countries; and lived in Saltillo Mexico for two years where she taught English at Refugio Del Rey Bible College. Even though she was gifted in many artistic fields, Linda's two greatest creative passions in life were creating keepsake quilts and stained glass ornaments for her family. She will be missed by many. Services to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
