Linda Carol Hays, age 58

Linda passed away on Friday afternoon at her residence in Waxahachie after a year long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family, who lovingly referred to her as "Nonnie". She was born in Waxahachie to Allen and Velma (Horton) Ledbetter and raised in Maypearl. She graduated from Maypearl High School in 1967. She attended Cosmetology School in Houston during the summer of her junior and senior years and received her Cosmotology License prior to her graduation from high school. She worked as a beautician for numerous beauty salons in Waxahachie for over 30 years. For the past 7 years, she had been employed as an Office Manager for Ellis County Family Services. Linda was an active member of First Baptist Church of Waxahachie where she served on numerous committees, worked in the nursery, and sang in the Chancel Choir.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Hays of Waxahachie, her daughter Hope Zettler and her husband Brian of West Jordan, UT, her son Alan C. Hays and his fiancee Amanda Bell of Waxahachie, 6 grandchildren that were her pride and joy: Kaitlyn and Gage Hays of Red Oak, TX, Alex, Bailey, and Lenzy Zettler of West Jordan, UT, and Landen Hays of Waxahachie, TX. Also surviving her is her sister, Pat Ansley and her husband Carl of Waxahachie, and her brother James Ledbetter and his wife Ann of Maypearl, and a large extended family.
Preceeding her in death were her parents in 1993 and 1996 and her son, Tommy, in 1995.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 7 to 9 PM on Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Dr. Shane Kinnison officiating. Interment will follow in the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Ansley, Keeley Sterling, Ray Lynn Campbell, Matthew Meisner, Dave Waidler, Richie Kelly, Jeff Thomas, and Jeremy Zettler.

The family request that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Beautification Fund, 315 N. Rogers, Waxahachie, TX 75165.
