With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Linda
Hummel Christian, who departed this life on August 1, 2024 at the age of 84. She was a loving grandmother, a vibrant spirit, and a beacon of joy to all who knew her.
Born on March 5, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, Linda lived a life filled with grace, compassion, and unwavering faith. She was a devoted follower of Christ, whose love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. Her faith guided her actions, bringing hope and inspiration to her family and community.
Linda was a woman of remarkable beauty, both inside and out. Her radiant smile and kind heart endeared her to everyone she met. She had an extraordinary ability to make those around her feel special and loved, always offering a listening ear and a comforting word.
Her home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, where family and friends gathered to share in laughter, stories, and cherished memories. She had a joyful spirit that was infectious, bringing light and happiness to every gathering. Her love for life was evident in her laughter, her love for music, and her appreciation for the simple joys.
As a grandmother, she was unparalleled. She showered her grandchildren with unconditional love, imparting wisdom, and teaching them the values of kindness, faith, and perseverance. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the hearts she warmed.
Linda is survived by her children Robert Christian, Jr. (Maria), Michael Christian (Kelly), Dana Hoffmann (Thomas), her grandchildren Alicia, Shawna, Isabella, Jason, Colin, Hannah, Erin Ruth, Zachary, Troy, Sidney, Matthew, her great-grandchildren Erin Elizabeth, Jessica, Melissa, Timothy, Erek, Christian, Carter, Jake, Cody, Cylas, great-great-granddaughter Leila, her sister-in-law Patricia Dockins and a host of relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Jeanne Hummel, her brother Leon C. Hummel, her grandson Aaron Michael Christian, and her beloved husband, Robert Christian, Sr., who passed away in 2020. She is now reunited with those who have gone before her, resting in the arms of her Savior.
A celebration of her life will be held on August 6, 2024 at 2:00pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, where we will gather to honor and remember the beautiful soul that she was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in her honor.
We find comfort in knowing that she is at peace, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Linda, you will be deeply missed, but your love and light will remain with us always.
