Lillian Marrion Martin, age 85
October 19, 1924
November 20, 2009

Lillian Martin left this life for a better one with her savior on Friday afternoon at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab Center in Italy, Texas. Lillian was born in Waco to Willis Donalson and Lydia (Kruger) Winn. She was married to Earl Martin in 1947 in Dallas, Texas, and they had a long and happy life together until his death in 1992.

Lillian and Earl traveled a lot in his business career in the insurance field, and she was a big asset in the social life of his career, and made lifelong friends among their business associates.

Lillian loved pets, and always had several, but never so many that she wouldn't succumb to the urge to pick up a stray if she found one in distress. She also loved children and taught a Sunday School Class at First United Methodist church Waxahachie for over 50 years. The many lives she touched for good are testimonial to her devotion and dedication to those young lives. She also made regular visits to shut-ins and brightened their lives with a smile and a sermon tape, lovingly referring to them as "my sweet home-bounds".

She is survived by several cousins and half-nieces and a host of friends. Her husband, parents and a half sister, Mary Lou "Sally" Joy preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Monday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Tuesday morning, November 24, 2009 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Kevin Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
