Levon Jones

Levon Jones, also known as Bonnie “Our Mammaw”, age 93, born in Lancaster, Missouri, passed away peacefully in Red Oak Health and Rehab, on Monday, August 26, 2019 with her loved ones present.

Levon worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator for 31 years.  She retired in 1983.  She and her husband moved to the Cedar Creek Lake shortly after.

Mammaw was happiest outside doing the simplest things.  She always said that the house work took a backseat to her activities outside.  “There was always a weed that needed pulled.”

She loved her Dallas Cowboys, hardly never missed a game.

Mammaw was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gun Barrel City, Texas.  She read the Bible countless times from beginning to end.

Mammaw was a wonderful person and filled with joy and projected that with everyone she met.  Rest in Peace, Mammaw.  We love you!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Jones; daughters, Faye Edwards and Loraine Menking; brothers, Paul White, Buster White; sisters, Evelyn Graham and Madeline White; Great Great Grandchild, Trew Dunklee.

Her survivors are:  sister-in-law, Florence White; grandchildren, Tim and Deborah Johnson, Eric and Marina Webb, Matt and Maria Webb, Tracy Webb, John and Davan Brown, and Sharon Boyington; great grandchildren:  Stephanie Doe, Serena Ream, Brandy Castle, Amanda Simpson, Lacy Simpson “Lace”, Angela and Sara Boyington, Otilia “Tilly”, Kateri “Kat” Webb; great great grandchildren:  Quentin, Devlin, Lydia, Kaleigh, Kevin, Gavin and Laila; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

And  a special mention, Kevin Buckert.

A reception will be held in the Wayne Boze Funeral Home during the 6-8 pm  visitation on Thursday, August 29, 2019.  Mrs. Jones graveside service will be Friday at 1 PM, August 30, 2019, at Birdston Cemetery, Streetman, Texas.
