Leone Reese

Mary Leone Reese, 92 of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 in McKinney, Texas attended by her family. She was born to the late Floyd and Pearl Hobbs Marshall on June 5, 1919 in Italy, Texas. Leone was an avid quilter having created over 75 quilts. She was a member of the quilter group at the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church of Waxahachie. She and her quilting were featured in the magazine Waxahachie Now. Leone loved her family very much and spending time with them. She was a strong matriarch. She is survived by her children, Linda Shirley and her husband, John of Richardson, Leon Reese of Waxahachie, and Beverly Hardin and her husband, Wayne of McKinney; she is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edison C. Reese; by her daughter, Barbara Norris; by her son, Wayne Reese; by her brothers, Duane Marshall, Oran Marshall and Leland Marshall; by her sisters, Doris Poarch and Pat Martin. The service to celebrate her life is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with John Shirley and Rev. Larry Poarch officiating. Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
