Leonard Thompson

Leonard H. Thompson, 84 of Forreston, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in Waxahachie. He was born to Leo and Ruth Thompson on May 3, 1930 in Perryville, Missouri. He attended Yount schools and served in the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class for 9 years. He was the founder and owner of Thompson Tire in Sardis, Texas until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; also by his brothers, Ralph Thompson, Richard Thompson, Ray Thompson, Floyd Thompson, Tommy Thompson, Leo "Duke" Thompson; by his sisters, Florence Thompson Coffey, Leona Thompson Johnson and Lillian Thompson. He is survived by his children, Leonard Michael "Mike" Thompson and his wife, Anny, Patti Thompson Dowie and her husband, Tom, Becky Thompson Wilson and her husband, Randy, Gary Thompson and his wife, Lucy, Kelly Thompson Greer and partner, Tommy Wright; his grandchildren, Erick Thompson, Lenny Thompson, James Thompson, Vinsan Thompson, Anise Thompson, Johanka Thompson, Reed Dowie, Rob Dowie, Haley Wilson Petrisor, Whitney Wilson Bang, Lanny Thompson, Parker Thompson, Karah Thompson, Collin Pylant, Cadie Pylant and Lauren Geralds; his great grandchildren, Rylan Figueroa, Caleb Petrisor, Elijah Petrisor and Jensen Bang; he is also survived by his brother, Lester Thompson and his wife, Dee; his sister, Ruth Ann Thompson Dodds and her husband, Roger; his sister-in-laws, Della Thompson, Wilma Thompson and Lois Thompson; and numerous Nieces and nephews; he is also survived by the mothers of his children, Candy White and Jo Ann Thompson. The family would like to thank Jo Ann Thompson for her selfless care and support she provided to Leonard during his last months. Visitation will be held Monday, September 15, 2014 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held for the family Tuesday morning with Brother Grady Cashion and Pastor Robert Hemsath officiating. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
