Leonard Leon Brown, age 79

Mr. Leonard Brown of Waxahachie passed away Tuesday at Methodist Medical Center, Dallas. He was born in Ullin, IL. to Leroy and Hazel Fern (Martin) Brown. Mr. Brown served in the US Marine Corps during WWII, participating in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He married the former Nora Jean King. He was a wiredrawer with Keystone Steel and Wire Company. Mr. Brown was a member of the South Prong Baptist Church, Waxahachie.

Survivors include: his wife, Nora Brown of Waxahachie; son, Rich Brown of Peoria, IL.; daughters, Lois Freeman of Leon G.T.O., Mexico and Debbie Darnall of Pekin, IL.; brother, Arlen Brown of Wyoming, IL.; grandchildren, Julie Weaver, Jenny Stilling, Sarah Burdett, Jodi Darnall, Sonya Darnall, Bruce Brown and Angie Baxter; nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relative 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be 2 PM Saturday, November 19, 2005 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Gerald Prewitt officiating.
Interment will be at Noon, Monday, November 21, 2005 in the DFW National Cemetery, Dallas.
