LaVoyce Tennery, 86 of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008 in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Emmitt L. & Maude Embrey Scott on February 13, 1922.
LaVoyce was a long time member of Farley Street Baptist Church. She was the wife of Thomas Odell Tennery having been married on June 21, 1940. LaVoyce was a graduate of Milford High School, class of 1940. She will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas O. Tennery of Waxahachie; son, Jimmy L. Tennery and his wife, Annie of Ennis; daughters, Gwyn L. Arnold and her husband, Douglas of Waxahachie, Tempye F. Kinnart and her husband, Bob of Waxahachie; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
The family request that memorials be made to the Farley Street Baptist Church Building Fund.
