Laura Mcneely

Laura Mae McNeely, 101 of Waxahachie, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late George W. & Zemma E. Johnson McElroy on May 12, 1913 in Midlothian, Texas. Laura enjoyed volunteering at senior dances and enjoyed tending to the flower bed at her church, Ferris Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a member since 1949. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. So many things about Laura will be missed, forever loved and cherished. She is survived by her son, Larry Wayne McNeely of Waxahachie; her daughter, Beverly McNeely Stevenson of Murphy; her grandchildren, Shawn McNeely, Sandy Abel and Sheree Ivey; her great grandchildren, Alyssa McNeely, Jordan Abel, Caleb Ortiz and Kalei Ivey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Elbert McNeely and also by her great grandson, Kai Ivey. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Bro. Corey Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park, Waxahachie. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
