Laura Ingram Berglund
Laura Ingram Berglund went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, September 8, 2009, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas Texas. She was born March 11, 1959, in Freeport, Texas to Cherlyn and James Ingram.
Laura was a talented, creative homemaker who loved cooking, sewing, gardening, and bird watching. She grew up in the Houston area and graduated from Katy High School.
Laura accepted Christ and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson, Texas, when she was six years old. She was a member of The Avenue Church in Waxahachie, Texas.
Laura is survived by her two sons: Daniel Golmon of Lewisville, Texas, and Samuel Berglund of Waxahachie, Texas. Her parents: Cherlyn and Gerry Newbury of Plano, Texas, and her grandmother, Willie Derryberry also of Plano. Her sisters: Julie Ingram of Waxahachie, and Amy Roberts of Plano. Her brothers: Keith Ingram of Plainfield, Indiana, Brian Ingram of Waxahachie, and David Newbury of Dallas, Texas. Other special people in Laura's life are her friend Brittany Ogelsby of Waxahachie, and her sisters-in-law, Mary Beth Ingram and Lisa Ingram of Waxahachie, Susan Ingram of Fishers, Indiana, and her brother-in-law, Doug Roberts of Plano.
Laura had nine nieces and nephews that gave her love and laughter: Timothy, Jessica, and Caleb Ingram of Indiana. Cameron, Jacob, and Alyssa Ingram of Waxahachie, Jourdan Bradley and Brooke Roberts of Plano, and Justice Ingram of Waxahachie. Her Aunts and Uncles: Lanny and Linda Derryberry of Austin, Texas, and Preston and Helen Ingram of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her Great Aunts: Freddie Summers of Corsicana, Texas, Betty Heald of Malakoff, Texas, Velma McClure of Blooming Grove, Texas, and Mildred Jones of Dallas, Texas. Her Great Uncles: Bill Flint of Corpus Christi, Texas and Al Prince of Lake Havasu, Arizona. Her cousins: Gary Ingram and Paula Dye of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, James Ingram, her grandparents, Wilburn Derryberry, Preston and Bernice Ingram, and her cousin, Lou Anne Richard.
Arrangements are with Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie with a special memorial service celebrating Laura's life to be held at The Avenue Church, 1679 Hwy 77 N. Waxahachie, Texas on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 3:30 PM with Pastor Dave Brown officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or to The Truth Organization (RTI International) A group dedicated to prevention of cigarette smoking.
