Larry Bryant Laudig passed away in the early morning hours of December 25, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was born June 2, 1938, in the home of an aunt living in Poland, Indiana to Helen Maxine Laudig (Greenlee) and Wayne Raymond Laudig. He graduated from North Salem High School, North Salem, Indiana in 1956. His proud family dropped him off at the United States Naval Academy that same year, and Larry thrived in the structed military environment, graduating 17th out of 797 and earning a commission in the U.S. Navy. In 1965, after serving as a submarine warfare officer, he was medically retired as a LTJG. He spent 36 years as an engineer employed by Magnavox, later Raytheon, in both Fort Wayne, Indiana and later Tampa, Florida. Education was an important focus in his life, and he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, United States Naval Academy, 1960; a Master of Science in Mathematics, Purdue University, 1974; and a Master of Business Administration in Finance, St. Francis College, 1984.
Larry was also a well-rounded person and enjoyed many activities outside of work, but his favorite were golf and bridge. He was also a long-term member of Toastmasters speech club. After a move from Tampa, Florida to Waxahachie, Texas twenty years ago, he became a very active member of the Waxahachie Senior Center and First Christian Church of Waxahachie. Surviving are sisters Constance L. Seward, Shirley L. Foutz, and step-sister Judith Hopper McFerran; children Larry W. Laudig, Elizabeth A. Laudig, and Matthew J. Laudig, grandchildren Melena Laudig, Cristina Laudig, and Gabriela Laudig. He was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children, Kathleen S. Laudig.
A private burial will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
