Larry Gordon

Larry Frank Gordon, 73, of Red Oak, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 31, 2016.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday January 12 at 10 am in Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Floral arrangements are being handled by Blooms & More.

Born in Wichita Falls, Texas on November 9, 1943 to Dorothy Louise and Frank Perl Gordon. Larry graduated and played football for the Wichita Falls High School State Champion Coyotes of 1961.

Larry married to Carol Jo Fails on June 12, 1964; they were married for 52 years.

He worked as a Programmer Analyst for Southwest Airlines for a number of years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, feeding his birds, and watching sports. A veteran of the Vietnam War in 1966 HQ US Conarc, Larry endured Agent Orange.

Survived by his beloved wife Carol Fails Gordon of Red Oak and his "favorite" daughter Kara Renee Gordon Wright of Red Oak and her gentlemen: Matthew James Wright and John Tyler Grisham; grandchildren: Shayne Otto Wright (8), Andrew Russell Wright (23), Bryan Gordon Wright (20) and his fiancé Jewel Myrtle Frick.

Above all else, Larry was a brave fighter. Diagnosed in 1981 with Hodgkin's Disease, in 1990 Triple Bypass and St. Jude Valve Replacement, in 1994 Bladder and Prostate Cancer, in 2015 Kidney Cancer followed by a Stroke. His family often joked that he was the bionic man. Hospitalized for the week prior, the exact cause of his death is not known at this time.

Larry is preceded in death by his adoring mother Dorothy Louise Gordon and father Frank Perl Gordon. His parents were active in the community of Wichita Falls.
