Laritta Faye Griffin (also lovingly known as “Sis”) from Red Oak, TX was born to C.V. and Loretta Nail of Hutchins, TX. She was the only sister and youngest of six (6) siblings.
Laritta was known for being “momma” to everyone who met her, no matter how young or old they were. But her greatest accomplishment in life, her pride and joy, was when she became a mother to her two sons Robert Chandler (June 18, 1989) and Dylan Tankersley (May 7, 1997). Her boys were the entirety of her world and the reason she fought so hard during her illness. Laritta was a dedicated and passionate person to everything and everyone she encountered whether it was in her personal life or career. Laritta worked for Minyard’s Food Store for 17 years where she met her husband, Stephen. When she left Minyard’s in August of 2004, it was to begin what would be her greatest career accomplishment and that was working at NPI. Little did she know that over the next 20 years she would become an integral part of the company in so many ways. Laritta quickly transitioned into a role in the engineering department, where she thrived and rarely missed a day of work, always showing up with a smile, and was ready to tackle any challenges that came her way. What truly set Laritta apart in her career was her genuine love for her job and the people she worked with at NPI. She would often express how much she enjoyed her work environment and the camaraderie amongst her colleagues. Her positive attitude and team spirit created a harmonious and productive atmosphere within the company. Laritta wasn't just an instrumental team member, she was a beacon of positivity and dedication leaving behind a lasting legacy that will be remembered for years to come!
Laritta applied the same values in her personal life, as well. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Laritta knew her contagious kindness, sweetness, and unconditional love for everyone. She made sure everyone she encountered felt that love and appreciation. She was the epitome of fierce loyalty, unbounded compassion, and unconditional love; not to mention being one of the best cooks around! However, her greatest blessings, which were the entirety of her world, were her sons. She was the glue, the rock, the stronghold, and their superhero! Laritta was our bright shining light in this world, and we are going to miss her tremendously! She was beautiful inside and out, she always put family first, and her unwavering love and support will echo through all of our lives forever.
Laritta became our heavenly angel on November 30, 2024, reuniting with her beloved parents, C.V. and Loretta Nail, and brothers Tommy, Ray, and Troy Nail. Laritta is celebrated and survived by her loving sons, Robert Chandler and Dylan Tankersley, husband Stephen Griffin, brothers Danny Nail (wife Betty), Billy Nail (wife Michelle), sisters-in-law Susan Nail (husband Ray) and Patty Nail (husband Tommy), mother-in-law Marie Griffin, brother-in-law David Griffin, and a host of numerous nieces, nephews (including great), and cousins she adoringly loved.
