Kristi Marie Johnson went to meet her Lord and loved ones on February
16, 2023 after a relentless four-year battle with cancer. Born September 10,
1973, Kristi lived in Waxahachie her entire life and was a life-long member
of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church. After graduating from
Waxahachie High School in 1991, Krist worked in bookkeeping and
accounting the next thirty years, her latter years for Simplified Business
Solutions.
Kristi could be described as a determined and passionate woman who was
fiercely protective of those she loved. Her favorite pastime was being a
devoted grandmother to her two, almost-two-year-old, grandchildren Aela
Jo and Grayson Reed. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy and pro-football
fan - she watched Super Bowl LVII from her hospital bed the Sunday before
she passed away.. She loved to shop and enjoyed being a “dog mom” to
her two German short-haired pointers Lincoln and Remington. And one of
her favorite family memories - pre-grandchildren - was roasting hot dogs on
Sunday evenings at her great-grandparents’ home place.
Kristi is survived by her father Ken Johnson and his wife Lea of
Waxahachie; her mother Marie Wilson and husband Rusty of Forrestburg;
her son Tyler Wayne Milligan, wife Poni, and their son Grayson of
Waxahachie; her other son Kenneth Dexter Milligan and his daughter Aela
Jo of Waxahachie; and numerous special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Kenneth and Jo Johnson
of Waxahachie, grandmother Gracie Cumins of Waxahachie, and
great-grandparents Charles and Leona Walker of Waxahachie.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 am Thursday, February 23 at Wayne
Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie with the interment to follow at Red Oak
Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 22 from 6 to 8 pm at the
funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Keith Johnson, Jacob Blakley,
Stephen Simmons, Andrew Patak, Damon Mackey, and Shawn Lankford..
