Kory Michael Rindahl October 15, 1973 October 12, 2015 Kory Michael Rindahl was born on October 15, 1973, in Dallas, Texas to proud parents, Ronda Tyler and Richard Rindahl. Kory's life on this earth ended on October 12, 2015, as he was riding his bicycle while his son, Ryder, was attending his Webelo meeting. Kory lived in Red Oak, with his wife, Elaine, and children, Sadie and Ryder. Kory's world revolved around his family. He loved his kids and was very proud of them. He was amazed at how bright and smart Sadie and Ryder are. Kory was thankful that they did not inherit his heart problems and that they are healthy and happy. His number one priority was to be the best dad and always be there for his kids, no matter what! Sadie's infectious laughter and the way she would get Ryder laughing amused Kory; Sadie's way of looking out for Ryder gave Kory so much satisfaction. Ryder constantly amazed his father, especially by his proclivity for climbing - anything and everything from the time he was 6 months old. As he grew up, he figured out how to toss a rope over a tree limb, tie one end to his belt loop, and hoist himself up the tree - to the point of destroying every single belt loop on all of his clothes! Perhaps his ingenuity will lead to a career as an engineer, or maybe someday, Ryder will climb Mount Everest! Kory and Elaine, who called herself Ory Piper, dated for 2 years, and were married for 8 years. Elaine truly felt that Kory was her soul mate and willingly dedicated her life to raising Sadie and Ryder. He had her at, "Hello!" (Reference Jerry Maguire). In addition to his family, Kory's other passion was music. He played the drums and the guitar, and he loved to sing. Kory never thought of anyone as a stranger. To him, strangers were just friends you haven't met yet, and he would do anything in the world for you. Kory's wicked sense of humor would often cause tortuous tears of laughter running down your cheeks. All of you who are gathered here today know that Kory had a Texas-sized heart, even though he was born with aortic stenosis. He never let his heart problems get in the way of what he wanted to do. He grew his hair long enough to cut it and donate it to Locks of Love so that some precious little girl undergoing cancer treatment could have a gorgeous wig instead of being bald. Another friend he just hadn't met yet. Kory's other trait that will forever be etched in our memories are his gorgeous electric-blue eyes. Those eyes will now allow someone else to see. Kory was a universal organ donor, and that perfectly demonstrates Kory's unselfish love for many friends he just hadn't met yet. Now Kory will live on, not just in our hearts, but through the lives of dozens of unknown friends that are the recipients of his unselfish gift.
