Kevin Drake Krieg, 66, passed away from this life April 17, 2014, in Red Oak, TX. Visitation willbe at Wayne Boze Funeral Home Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and services will be Wednesday, April 23rd at 10:00 a.m. with the burial following at the DFW National Cemetery in Grand Prairie. Kevin Krieg was born February 10, 1948 to George Frederick and Bernadine Christine Krieg in Janesville, Wisconsin. He relocated to Texas when he was nine years old and vowed Texas would always be his home. Kevin served in the US Marine Corps from 1966 - 1970 during the Vietnam War as a jet mechanic. He then began a 20 year career in management in the grocery business. He spent the last half of his working career as a painter for Briggs Equipment. He retired from Briggs in December 2012. Kevin had a work ethic that was second to none and he was the most dependable and respectful person anyone knew. He took pride in any job, no matter how big or small. The true love of his life was his wife of 14 years, Alisa. He loved spending time with her on many road trips to Washington, going to the horse races, and hanging out with their close friends Aaron Fouts, Daren, Ryan, Kris, and "Cotton" Jackson, Chad Jordan, Chad Puckett, Cody Grant, Mike Culley, Mike Owens, and Jim Palmer. He loved all kids. He would pick up some of his friend's kids from school each day and watch them until their parents got off work. He especially loved to spend time with his nine grandchildren. He had special nicknames for each of them and they had special nicknames for him. Survivors include his wife Alisa Elaine Krieg of Red Oak, TX, mother Bernadine Christine Krieg of Woodway, TX, father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Donna Cole of DeSoto, brother David Krieg of Woodway, TX, son Christopher Drake Krieg of Red Oak, TX, Son and daughter-in-law Tracy and Stefani Krieg of Forney, TX, daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Jeff Stolz of Washington, TX, daughter and son-in-law Kelli and Thomas Herold of Rowlett, TX, and step-son Clinton Smith of Red Oak, TX. He is survived by his grandchildren Hunter Roe and Chase Krieg of Evansville, WI, Connor and Landon Krieg of Forney, TX, Abigail, Kameron, and Brooklynn Stolz of Washington, TX, and Rylan and Colton Herold of Rowlett, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father George Krieg and his sister Georgia Krieg. Serving as pallbearers are Christopher D. Krieg, Aaron Fouts, Daren Jackson, Derrick "Cotton" Jackson, Ryan Jackson, and Chad Jordan. Serving as honorary pall bearers are Tracy Krieg, Jeffrey Stolz, Thomas Herold, and Connor Krieg. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Kevin's honor to the Marines Toys for-Tots Foundation.
