Kenneth Johnson

Kenneth Johnson, 82 of Waxahachie, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was born to the late William H. Johnson and Lucille Heath Johnson on January 16, 1933 in Reager Springs, Texas Kenneth served our Country in the United States Navy for four years, serving in the Korean War. He graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1950 and married the love of his life, Jo Hassell in Forreston, Texas on June 20, 1952. He loved hunting and being outdoors. He enjoyed working with his boys, coaching little league baseball, basketball and pee-wee football. Kenneth retired after 31 years with Kerr Glass. He was an active member of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church, Waxahachie where he served on numerous committees and currently serving as church Treasurer. Kenneth will be greatly missed by so many who will continually love him. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jo Johnson of Waxahachie; his sons, Kenny Johnson and his wife, Lea of Waxahachie, Joe Keith Johnson and his wife, DeAnne of Waxahachie; his grandchildren, Charles Keith Johnson and his wife, Hope and Kristi Johnson; also by his great grandchildren, Tyler Milligan, Kenneth Milligan, Hannah Johnson and Will Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Lucille Heath Johnson; also by his sisters, Margaret Burleson, Helen Rutherford and Corine Watson. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
