Kenneth Clonts

Kenneth Clonts was sometimes perceived as a gruff and stern man, but as the years went by many were able to witness the softer, kinder side of him. He passed away at the young age of 69 on Sunday, December 10, 2017.

Born in the small, southern town of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, he had no idea what was in store for him later in life.

He graduated from Waxahachie High School, joined the Army, and just a few months later, on March 21, 1969, married Claudia Clonts. Almost immediately after joining the Army, he was off to see the world. He spent a year in Korea and then was finally able to have his family join once his tour took him to Germany. It was hard to be separated from their extended family, so they made sure to attend family reunions as often as possible and endured the 14-hour drive in a truck with just a camper shell from Alabama at Christmas-time. (Oh, the stories we could tell!)

Kenneth was always happy to answer a question or help you solve a problem. Many have encountered the teaching method that was unique to him. He always tried to keep things simple. You would ask the question and he would give the answer, like so . . . A+B=C. If you didn't get his explanation, well, he did the next logical thing . . . he repeated it louder! Isn't that what everybody does?

Even before retirement, he found his "free time" calling - fixing computers. He was known as the go-to guy for all things computer. He could build you one from scratch and fix just about any issue you had. He took great pride in his work and his ability to do all that he could, considering he was self-taught.

Kenneth greatly enjoyed his four grandchildren, Macey Thompson and Greyson Clonts, Colton and Victoria Waple. He went out to eat with them every opportunity he got, and then even invented opportunities just so they could get together. He was very proud to be the grandparent that always bought the technology gifts. If there was an electronic toy out there, he was researching it and usually buying it.

Just like his wife, Kenneth left this world way too early. We will all miss him dearly, but can take comfort in knowing that he's now reunited with his wife of almost 50 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin (Pete) and Lyndol Clonts, his sister, Marva Chapman, and his wife, Claudia Clonts. He is survived by their children - daughter, Amy and Rob Waple and son, Nicholas and Holly Clonts; and sister, Patsy Park and her family.

Services to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will be held at a later date at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
