Karen Mosby

Karen passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 12, 2016. Karen was born on August 24, 1946 to Carl and Mozelle Owens of Hubbard, Texas. Karen grew up in Hubbard and later moved to Waxahachie where she raised her two children.

Karen worked for many years at Citizens National Bank, before opening Lynn's Check Cashing. Karen owned and operated Lynn's until retiring in 2007.

Karen loved to help people and the recipients of her selfless acts of kindness, seldom knew who helped them. Karen had huge love for children, animals and people in need. After the birth of her granddaughter Lexi, she quickly became Karen's number one priority. Lexi remained Karen's pride and joy until the end.

Survivors include her daughter Carla Fikes and Roy, her son Clint Fikes and Kristi, her granddaughter Alexis Fikes, her spouse of 15 years David Watson, her Uncle Curtis and Aunt Mary, cousins Lisa Moren, Jerry Owens and their families. Although not related by blood, Jose Vasquez has been a very special part of the family for 26 years.

The family would like to express a very heartfelt Thank You to Stephanie Ray, Sharon Junkin, Wendy Middleton and Infinite Home Health Care. Home Health Care Nurses Meagan, Kristi and Minda.

Visitation will be held at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10:00 am. Longtime friend, Brother Grady Cashion will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to CASA of Ellis County or SPCA of Ellis County.
