Joyce Marie Stevenson, 83 of Waxahachie, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at her residence in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Henry and Lucy Freeman on February 27, 1926 in Italy,Tx.

Joyce loved her church and singing in the choir, she was the Assistant Sunday School Superintendant and a member of UMW at Ferris Heights UMC. She loved volunteering and community service; assorted activities with friends at the Senior Citizens Center, she was a Pink Lady at Baylor Medical Center and a member of Eastern Star. One of her proudest achievments was sewing all of her late husband's suits and shirts and taking care of her precious poodle Buddy.

Survivors are her Son Ken Stevenson and his wife Cheryl of Spring, Texas, Brother Billy Freeman and his wife Norma of Italy, Sister Lois Cosby and her husband John of Lillian, and Brother-in-law Dale Stevenson and his wife Carla of Waxahachie, She is also survived by three Grandchildren, Jaime Suarez and husband, Fabian of Lewisville, KC Stevenson, II, of College Station, Mark Hammer of San Francisco, CA., Great Grandson, Fenton Suarez, numerous nieces and nephews and of course, her beloved poodle, Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Stevenson; and by her brother, Travis Freeman;

A visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 PM Friday at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Ferris Heights United Methodist Church Waxahachie, Tx. 75165.
