Mrs. Sanders passed away Thursday at the Red Oak Nursing Home in Red Oak, Texas. She was born in Keller, Oklahoma to Benjamin Carel Davis and Ola Maude (Ligon) Davis. She married J.R. Sanders on November 27, 1940. Mrs. Sanders was a member of The Oaks Fellowship Assembly of God Church where she was involved in the women's ministries and their choir. She was a Sunday School teacher, a musician and a singer. At the age of 50 she received her GED and attended Howard Junior College in Big Springs, Texas. She received her real estate license and owned and operated Crown Reality of Big Springs.

Mrs. Sanders is survived by her husband, J.R. Sanders of Red Oak; two daughters, Cynthia and Donald Hanna, also of Red Oak, and Dana and R.D. Houghton of Bryan, Texas; one brother, Earl and Jean Davis of Louisiana , and one sister, Dorris Nelda and Bud Shook of Midland, Texas. There are four grandchildren; Mitchell and Rhonda Houghton, Missy Houghton, Jennifer Grant and Amy Joyce and David Smith;
Seven great grandchildren, Magen, Hayley, Tyler and Taylor Houghton, Andrew Grant, Madison Angle and Katelyn Smith.

he family will receive friends and relatives Sunday 5-7 at the Red Oak Funeral Home.
The Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 17, at 10 AM at the Red Oak Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be Don Hanna, Mitchell Houghton, R.D. Houghton, Tim Sikorski and David Smith. Interment will be in DVW National Cemetery.
