Joyce Grimes

Joyce Ann Grimes, 78 of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 in Waxahachie. She was born September 8, 1939 in Boyce.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Grimes; her son, Terry Douthit and wife, Cindy; her daughter, Dana Hernandez and husband, Sebastian; her step son, Timothy Grimes; her step daughter, Debbie Thompson; her grandchildren, Amanda Brock, Jr. (Sebastian) Hernandez and wife, Janelle, Paul Hernandez, Ryan Hernandez and wife, Tori, Jennifer Harrell and husband, Chris, Teri Willms, Jonathan Weber and Wife, Elessa, Jennifer Davidson and husband, Bobby, Thomas Grimes and wife, Jamie, Emma Grimes, Katlyn Grimes, Alyssa Cave and husband, Griffin, David Grimes and wife, Emilee, John Hernandez and Brittney Hernandez; also by her sister, Jean Otto and husband, James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oki and Altie Walton; 4 sisters and 6 brothers.

Joyce was a member of Water Street Baptist Church. She worked and retired from HEB. She was kind and thoughtful to everyone she met and she enjoyed being outside and working in her yard. Joyce liked to travel. What she loved and enjoyed most was spoiling her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Brother James Southard officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
