Joyce Bruton passed away Thursday morning at the Baylor Medical Center, Dallas. She was born in Dallas, Texas to Melvin D. and Mary Tom (Truett) Bailey. She attended schools in Red Oak, and Eastfield and Richland Colleges. She and Jim Bruton married August 28, 1981 in Ada, Oklahoma. She was an active volunteer with the Eastridge, Red Oak Intermediate and Red Oak Junior High PTA'S. Mrs. Bruton was of the Baptist faith.

Full of beauty and life, Grammy always had a way of sharing these gifts with those she loved the most. Whether it was working in the garden, cooking for her babies, or helping with homework she was always giving with such love and light that it seemed nothing in the world could ever be wrong. Perhaps the most amazing thing about her was that she never hesitated to share the same love she had for her babies and grandbabies with anyone who needed a hug and a Grammy. Her life has touched so many of us. There are so many of us who can say of her "I'm everything I am because you loved me." Like her roses which bloom in all kinds of weather her love and influence will endure throughout time.

She is survived by: daughters and sons-in-law, Dana Bruton of Irving, Christie and Steve Mansfield of Red Oak, Lisa and Terry Mayfield of Royce City; son, Jeffery Scott Bruton and wife Iris of Germany; daughter, Tina Gannon of Irving; brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin and Leta Bailey of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Gary Bailey of Red Oak, David and Debbie Bailey of Gilmer, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria "Jackie" and Frank Sanchez of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Robin Elizabeth, Ashley Joyce, Cody Craig, Justin Lee; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bruton, parents, and three brothers.

The family will receive friends and relatives 4-8 PM Sunday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Monday in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Frank Sanchez and Reverend Matt Sanchez officiating.
