Johnny Underwood

Johnny Paul Underwood, age 61

Mr. Underwood passed away Saturday afternoon at Renfro Care Center in Waxahachie. Johnny was born in Erlangen, Germany to Warren G and Marareta Trautner Underwood. He graduated from Sam Houston High School of Arlington, TX in 1966 and served with the US Army in Korea during the Viet Nam War. He was a Food Service Manager for Underwoods BarBQ in Waxahachie and later employed with Dart Transit System in Dallas.

He is survived by: his mother Margareta and her special friend Helmut Krauss of Waxahachie, his son Jason Underwood and wife Nicole of Mansfield, his daughter Julie Underwood of Dallas, and 3 grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Michael Underwood and his wife Cindy of Knoxville, Tennessee and two sisters; Susan Aston of Dallas, Cathy Burks and her husband Ken of Frisco, and several aunts,uncle,nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his father Warren, and his sister Gloria.

Private family service will be Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Chaplain Susan Ellen Wood officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
