Johnny W. Gillen went to be with the Lord March 7, 2009. He was born October 22, 1940 in Blooming Grove. A resident of Waxahachie and a member of Central Baptist Church. He was in construction work and a truck driver for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Gillen; daughter, Tiffany Gillen of Waxahachie; son, Chad Gillen of Waxahachie; brothers, Donnie & Peggy Gillen of Corsicana, Michael Gillen of Pattonville, Texas, Larry & Terri Gillen of Blooming Grove; sisters, Betty Jean Campbell of Bynum , Lelia & James Brown of Mesquite, Pam & Cliff Giese of LaGrange, and Kathy Henderson of Whitney.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Gillen and his parents.
Johnny had many nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband and a great Dad. Thanks for all the good times we had together.
Thank you to the City of Waxahachie and all the friends, prayers and support we had at this difficult time.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Blooming Grove, with Rev. Mark Richardson officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
