Johnnie Radney

December 2, 1925 — March 26, 2016

Johnnie Sanders Radney of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Midlothian, Texas. He was born on December 02, 1925 in Kerens, Texas to the late John Henry& Dora Velma Howell Radney. After high school Johnnie served in the US Army during WWII. He was in the 101st Airborne Unit and served in the Central Europe & Rhineland where he received three Bronze Stars and also served on the Honor Guard at the Nuremberg Trials in Germany. After his service in the military Johnnie worked for Lone Star Cement from 1950-1960 and worked for TXI from 1960 to his retirement in 1989 as the Assistant Plant Manager.

Johnnie married Ruby Lee Blackburn Radney on February 16, 1946. They were married for 70 years. He was a longtime member of The Avenue Church. He loved to hunt, fish and work in the garden. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Lee Radney of Waxahachie, Texas; Son & Daughter in law: Gary& Jody Radney; Daughter & Son in Law: Sandra and Rick Blythe; Grandchildren: Luke & Shannon Radney, Chance & Nicole Blythe; Great Grandchildren: Nash Radney Blythe; Brother: Jairl & Barbara Radney; Sister: Charlene & Henry Owens and numerous nieces & nephews and other family and friends.

Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, April 01, 2016 at The Avenue Church in Waxahachie, Texas with Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
