If only memories remain, make them beautiful. Johnnie Faye passed away on Friday, July 20, 2007 at the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Nursing Home in Ennis, Texas. She was born on April 15, 1924 in Palmer, Texas to John C. Allen and Clintus Deva (Brock) Allen. Johnnie graduated from Palmer High School in 1941. She made her home in Waxahachie where she worked for TP&L (now known as TXU) Electric for over 47 years. She was a faithful member of the Rebekah Lodge #138 for over 55 years, where she held many chairs. Her favorite was "reporter." Johnnie Faye was a member of Ferris Heights Methodist Church for more than 50 years and also a member of the Baylor Hospital Auxiliary for over 40 years. She never met a stranger and remembered everyone she ever met.

Her survivors include a nephew, Larry G. Allen and wife Joyce of Dallas; a niece Sharla Allen of Corsicana; two great nieces, Ashley Allen and Amber (Allen) Sewell; great nephew Shae Harp of Corsicana; two great-great nephews, Dominic Allen and Cooper Sewell; and her name sake, Sydney Symone "Faye" Reed. She is also survived by many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Earl Duff and J.O. (Manny) Brown.

So many people loved Aunt Johnnie and she will be greatly missed. Someone once said that she was the prettiest woman in Waxahachie, both inside and out.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 to 6 PM Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. A graveside service in scheduled for Monday, July 23, 2007 at 10 AM at Hillcrest Cemetery with Ted Brown officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Rebekah Lodge, Waxahachie #138 or Ferris Heights Methodist Church, Waxahachie, Texas.
