John Solis

John Solis, age 69, was taken to his heavenly father on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Waxahachie, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Hilario and Leocadia Solis on June 29, 1948 in Waxahachie, Texas.
John was married to Betty Solis for 47 wonderful years. He was a hard worker at Tyler for 35 years and loved to travel with his family. Growing up he loved working on his 57 Chevy's and racing them. John loved to play pool with family and friends. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was a Godly man who loved to serve the Lord. He enjoyed praying and reading his bible daily. He followed his father's footsteps as he was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher at Friendship Church in Ennis. John was especially fond of his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. In his last days he continued to have strong faith and witnessed to people.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Solis; his children, John A. Solis (Spouse, Olga Edith Solis), Timothy Solis (Sylvia Cadena), Larry Solis; his sisters, Martha Iglesias (Spouse, Augustine Iglesias - deceased), Lydia Martinez (Spouse, Herman Martinez), Ruth Lopez (Spouse, Joe Lopez), Mary Ruiz (Spouse, Manual Ruiz - deceased), Naomi Martinez (Spouse, Gilbert Martinez); his brothers, George Solis (Spouse, Martha Solis), Tom Solis (Spouse, Alba Solis), Rueben Solis, Sam Solis; his grandchildren, Maija N. Solis, Ian N. Solis, Israel Solis; sister-in-law, Margaret Solis; brother-in-law, Adolphus Rudolph Hernandez; also by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Hilario and Leocadia; his brothers, Benjamin Solis and Daniel Solis; and by his sisters, Sarah Salinas and Rachel Hernandez.

Memorial service to celebrate his life is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Primera Baptist Church (118 Kaufman St Waxahachie, TX 75165). Visitation with family and friends will be held at Primera Baptist Church after memorial service.
