John Pillow

John Graham Pillow, age 73, of Plano, TX passed away on May 13, 2014. John was born on January 13, 1941 in Dallas, TX to Jim and Gladys Pillow. John graduated from Lancaster High School and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of North Texas. John was a loving father, grandfather, and great grand father but most notably a loving and doting husband to his wife Betty Pillow of 37 years. They spent many years together dancing, traveling, and finding great restaurants. During the last 5 years, John was next to Betty's side taking care of her after her stroke in 2009. John strived to accomplish many things during his life and encouraged others to do so as well. John was a great motivational speaker and thrived on being a salesman. John was a great goal setter and pushed to achieve those goals. John's accomplishments include receiving the 4-H Club's highest award for outstanding work at age 17, State Vice President of Texas Jaycees, a member of both the DeSoto and Plano Chamber of Commerce, a member of the National Speakers Association, the Editor/Manager of the DeSoto Star paper and the Lancaster Herald paper, and a proud owner of several Dairy Queen franchises. John felt strongly about giving to the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. He is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Gladys Pillow and his siblings Jimmy Pillow and Polly Jo Pillow Gary. He is survived by his wife Betty Martin Pillow, 4 children, John Graham Pillow II (Julia), Jennifer Pillow Hawley, David Allen Faulkner, and Dawn Marie Faulkner, 6 grandchildren, Justin Pillow (Nikki), Johnathan Herron (Kailyn), Cameron Pillow, Malie Faulkner, Kiele Faulkner, Jake Faulkner, and 3 great grandchildren, Landon, Austin, and Kaitlyn. Memorial services will be held on Sunday May 18, 2014 at 2:00pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, TX. Memorials can be sent to the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association
