John Hughes, Jr.

John "JB" Madison Hughes Jr., 45, of Oak Leaf, Texas, passed away Thursday, April 9th, 2015. He was born on December 5th, 1969, in Hempstead, Texas, to John "Johnny" Madison Hughes Sr. and Barbara "Babs" Preston. JB was raised in the towns of Huntsville, Center, and Dallas, Texas, and was a surveyor all over the US for 24 years. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Baylor Bears, the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Mavericks, and the St. Louis Blues. JB was a devoted husband and a loving and supportive father and grandfather. JB was preceded in death by his mother, Babs Preston; his sister, Roni Riggs; his uncle, Robert "Bobby" Burns; his grandfather, Robert "Bob" Burns; his grandparents, Velton Bee and Bonnie Ruth Franks Hughes; his brother-in-law, Vinny Diaz; and his granddaughter, Alayah Dawn Goodman. He is survived by his soul mate, Leanna Hughes; his daughters and their families, Courtney and DJ Divers, Roni, Tyler and baby Waylon John Boidy, and Lauren Hughes; his father, John Hughes; his grandmother, Faye Burns; his step-father, Doug Preston; his aunts and uncles, Terri Cox, Bonnie B Hughes Lane, Annette Burns, and Veda, Sherry, Deryl and Eddie Preston; his in-laws, Bill and Deana Lovsey and Brenda and Irv Albrecht; his siblings, Jon Robert and Marilyn Hughes Pfeiffer, Niki, Jeb and baby Kinlee Chesson, Shelly and Jason Wells, Austin and April Preston, Jesse and Heather Hughes, Dennis and Melanie Preston, Billy Joe and Randi Brown, Ashley Nelson, Kasey Preston, Steven Preston; and his in-laws, Billie, Mike, Zina, Kerri, Melinda, Toni, Billy, and Todd; and many, many more family and friends that JB loved dearly. In short, JB was an all-around amazing man who will be loved and missed by many. His memorial service will be Thursday, April 16 at 4p.m. at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Waxahachie, Texas.
