John Daniel Gordon, Jr. April 20, 1922 October 22, 2011 John Daniel Gordon, Jr. 89, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Waxahachie. John was born April 20, 1922 in Aquilla, Texas to John Daniel & Carrie Bonner Gordon. John was employed with the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Dallas, retiring in 1982 after 25 years servcie. Following his retirement, he worked for several years with the Ellis County Committee on Aging. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Northside Church of Christ. He is survived by Louise Gordon of Waxahachie, his wife of 70 years, his children, Ron Gordon of Richardson and Jon Gordon and wife Susan of Dallas. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Brian Gordon of Richardson, Eric Gordon and wife Julie of Highland Village, Chris Gordon and wife Maury of Norfolk, Virginia and Erin Gordon Grady and husband Michael of Manhattan Beach, California. He has 6 Great Grandchildren: Hannah, Madeline, Percy and Byron Gordon and Ethan and Owen Grady. He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings. A Celebration of life is scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak, Texas.
