John Galbraith

March 25, 1947 — November 2, 2014

John Douglas Galbraith, 67, died peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2014 surrounded by his family. John was born on March 25, 1947 in New Haven, CT. After serving his country in the Vietnam War, he started working in the Alka-Seltzer department of Miles Laboratory in West Haven, CT where he met the love of his life, Patricia Anne Assunto. They married on February 5, 1972. John graduated with a degree in electronics from the Connecticut School of Electronics. Upon graduation he was hired by Digital Equipment Corporation where he worked as a computer designer for 24 years. John and Pat raised their four children in Litchfield, NH. John's desire to serve the Lord was his greatest passion. After committing their lives to Christ at a Clinton White Conference in Jefferson, NH in 1975, John and Pat faithfully served the Lord all these years. John began teaching the 5th Grade Sunday School class at Trinity Assembly of God in Derry, NH. His commitment to excellence can be seen in the pages of notes that he left, and the countless lives that he impacted. He taught both children and adults for over 30 years. He also served as a trustee, deacon, and Church Administrator at Trinity A/G. His lifelong passion for music was a blessing to those who heard him play. He played the trumpet on the worship team, which was a gift he gave to the Lord. He enjoyed listening to Jazz and improving along with Youtube videos. To his family he was a loving, gentle example of one who followed the Lord with all his heart. His quiet demeanor was matched by the depth of his character. John is survived by his wife Patricia Anne Galbraith; four children, Brian (and Dana) Galbraith of Waxahachie, TX, Laurie (and Leeon) Juarez of Waxahachie, TX, James (and Tara) Galbraith of Douglassville, PA, and Sharon (and Theodore) Kempinski of Haverhill, MA; eight grandchildren, Emily, Tyler, Andrew, Joshua and Emma Galbraith, Ben Juarez, Theodore and Hannah Kempinski; one brother, Lawrence Galbraith of Fort Pierce, FL, and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents Harry Douglas and Edna Margaret Galbraith. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Foley officiating. There will be a viewing and a time of visitation for family and friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to One Hope, an organization that distributes God's Word around the world.
