John T. Futch, lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away Sunday at the Trinity Mission Health and Rehab, Italy, TX. He was born in Forreston, TX.to Fred and Jewel (Reynolds) Futch. He left Forreston High School to serve in the US Navy during WWII. Mr. Futch married Hazel Marie Beene on October 29, 1948 in Waxahachie. In early years he worked with his father, as a carpenter, in construction. He was later employed with the Dallas Independent School District, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed woodcrafts and sports. His family said that he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Futch was a member and deacon at the Ferris Avenue Baptist Church.

His survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Hazel Marie Futch of Waxahachie; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Bobby Graham of Waxahachie, Bridgett and Bob Borden of Port Boliver, TX.; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances "Skeeter" and Lee Wylie of Alvarado, Freddie Curtis of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Robert and Jessica Borden, Brice and Maven Borden, Brandon and Katie Borden; great grandchildren, Brittney, Benjamin, Brent, and Brett Borden; also several nieces, nephews and in laws. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be 2 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor David Brown and Carlton Young officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Borden, Jr., Brice Borden, Morris Beene, Kenneth Raymond Harris II, Kenneth Harris and Gene David. Honorary Pallbearer will be CTTSN Brandon Borden of the US Navy. Interment will follow in the Forreston Cemetery.
