John Louis Frische
September 28, 1910
October 31, 2009
John Louis Frische, at the age of 99 years, John lived a long and happy life.
Born in Wapakoneta, Ohio to John Henry Frische and Rose Catharina Schuman Frische, John was raised on his family farm along with his brother Carl Frische and sister, Loretta Wolaver Vogel. He attended a one-room country school; he later honed his musical gift by enrolling at the Capital School of Music in Columbus, Ohio where he met his future wife, Ruth Rebecca Liggett, whom he married September 18, 1934. The couple eventually settled in Waxahachie and John embarked on a varied and successful career; he worked at Burleson Honey for 33 years and was later employed at Brown, Moore and Flint before retiring in 1990.
He shared his love of music with countless individuals throughout the years; the choir director at the First Christian Church in Waxahachie for a quarter-century, he also distinguished himself by teaching flute lessons and playing with the Irving Symphony.
In all of his endeavors, John enjoyed the lovfe and support of his wife, Ruth, with whom he enjoyed 70 years of marriage, until her passing in 2004; beginning in the early 1960's , the devoted couple traveled throughout the country together and proudly visited all 50 states. They embarked on a number of cruises and trips to Europe; they also shared in the joy of welcoming into their family two daughters, Rosana Frische Williams and Rebecca Frische Morrison, two grandsons, Bradley Jay Williams and wife, Ann Shamburg Williams and John Keith Williams and wife Karen Estes Williams; two great-granddaughters, Jennifer Williams Feldkamp and husband, Ty Feldkamp and Stefanie Williams Hutchinson; two great great-granddaughters, Anna Marie Feldkamp and Abigail Rose Feldkamp.
John was a joy and inspiration to all those who were privileged to know him and will all miss his teasing and wonderful sense of humor. He never met a stranger and always had a ready joke to share. God Speed John!
