John William Cochran, age 71
March 5, 1934

John William Cochran passed away at his home Wednesday, October 31, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 5, 1934 to James and Daisey Cochran. John had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Red Oak for the past 34 years.

Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Cochran; daughters, Sharon Carlson of Garland, TX. and Janet Porter of DeSoto, TX.; granddaughter, Jerri Vadas of Houston, TX.; grandsons, Marcus Bruner of Beford, TX. and Michael Bruner of McKinney, TX.; great grandchildren, Sydney Bruner and Austin Vadas; sisters, Shirley Silvers of Ferris, TX. and Carol Cochran of Waco, TX.; brother, Fred Cochran of Rosser, TX.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Thursday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. A Celebration of his Life is planned for 10 AM Friday, November 2, 2007 also at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Swarts officiating. Bill McCarty will provide the music for the service with interment following at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Scurry, TX.
