John Born, Jr.

John D. Born, Jr., 80 of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at his residence. He was born to the late John D. Born, Sr. and Thelma L. Hester Born on July 7, 1931 in Milford, Texas. John was a professor of history and loved teaching. He lectured at various Universities for 45 years. He enjoyed reading, working in the yard and gardening. His favorite sport was football and could not stand watching his favorite teams lose. John will be missed by so many who knew him and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia Born of Waxahachie; his son, William R. Born of Miami, Florida; his nephew, David Born and his wife, DiAnna of Rosenburg; and also by his niece, Kimberly Born of Arlington. Services to celebrate John's life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, Waxahachie with Rev. Jerry Galloway and Rev. Kevin Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Waxahachie. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
