Joella Bryant

On Monday, May 25, 2020, JoElla Bryant of Goodrich, Michigan passed away peacefully at the age of 79 in Ennis, Texas after a battle with heart issues and dementia.

JoElla was born on April 5, 1941 in Goodrich, Michigan to Ena Faye and Lloyd Cummings.   She graduated Goodrich High School in 1959 and worked for Dr. Walker and Dr. Benkirk for 20 plus years.  She raised three sons, Anthony, Todd and Corey Johnson.

JoElla was passionate about hockey and loved sports in general.  She was the biggest fan of her sons, no matter what sports they played.  She loved to sing and was part of the female barbershop chorus, Sweet Adelines.  Her favorite place was Lake Leelanau and she spent many summers of her retirement there.

JoElla was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd, her mother, Ena Faye and her sister Gwen.   She is survived by her children, Anthony Johnson, Todd Johnson and his wife Barbara as well as Corey Johnson and his wife, Jeanne.   Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Matthew, Jeffrey, Kyle, Danny, Brooke, Colton, Kate, Zack, Carly and Cass.

The family will hold a small memorial at a later date.  Her remains will be scattered at her beloved Lake Leelanau, per her final wishes.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
