Joseph (Joe) Franklin Reavis, 82 years old, passed away on July 3, 2018 at his home in Whitney, Texas with his family by his side. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10 AM in the Auburn Cemetery in Maypearl. Visitation with the family will be observed on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Highway 287 Business in Waxahachie.
Joe was born in Maypearl, Texas on November 14, 1935 and was the oldest son of Dollie and J.B. Reavis. His grandparents were early settlers of Maypearl. He served in the US Army and met the love of his life and married Marie Worlow. Joe retired from TXI cement plant and the County of Ellis. He was a member of the Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney, Texas and was a Mason for 50 years. Marie and Joe had two boys, Donnie and his wife, Cindy, of Cleburne, Texas and Lonnie Reavis of Hubbard, Texas. He is also survived by two brothers, Charles and Jimmy Reavis, both of Maypearl; 1 granddaughter, Katie Reavis; 1 great granddaughter, Lindzie Brown; brother and sister in-law, Claud and Bee Worlow of Cleburne, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe's parents, J.B. and Dollie Reavis, preceded him in death as well as 2 sisters, Martha Jones and Willie Sisk.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Parkinson Association or a charity of your choice.
