Joe Mitchell Melton October 16, 1941 April 17, 2015 Joe Mitchell Melton, 73 of Lancaster, Texas passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 in Lancaster, Texas. He was born October 16, 1941 in Honey Grove, Texas to John Lewis & Mozelle Rogers Melton. Joe was a graduate of Honey Grove High School in 1960, after high school he joined the Texas National Guards, then went to work for the US Postal Service as a carrier for 37 years until his retirement. He loved to hunt and fish. He will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew him and loved him. He is survived by his daughter and son in law: Tonja R. & Randy Davis of Red Oak, Texas; 1 Brother: Charles David Melton of Paris, Texas; Grandchildren: Katie Ostrander of Maypearl, Texas, Chase & Rachel Davis both of Red Oak, Texas and Tyler & Trenton Melton both of Ayr, North Dakota; 2 Great Grandchildren: David M. Wilson of Fair Chance, Pennsylvania and Korrie Ostrander of Maypearl, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Son: Joe M. Melton and 1 Grandson: David M. Wilson. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak, Texas. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
