Joe Gorman, age 76

Mr. Gorman passed away Tuesday at his Avalon residence. He was born in
Rankin, TX. to Jesse and Josie (Owens) Gorman. Mr. Gorman was a farmer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Avalon where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and was song leader for over 40 years.

Mr. Gorman is survived by: his wife, Doris Gorman of Avalon; daughters, Debbie Wooldridge of Barry and Robin Feaster of Avalon; brother, Wilmer Gorman of Garland; sister, Edith Bond of Waco; grandchildren, Eric Wooldridge, Brad Wooldridge, Ceci Burton, Natalie Feaster and Blanton Feaster; six nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends and relatives 7-9 PM Wednesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Thursday, February 17, 2005 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Larry Poarch,Reverend Shane Norcross and Reverend Cleve Clark officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry Gorman, Lewis Gorman, Sam Gorman, Tom Bond, Bob Bond, and Lee Robbins. Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery, Avalon.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
