Joe Curby

God's servant and "Miracle Man", Joe Loyd Curby, received his new body on November 7, 2016 after struggling through many health issues over the years.

Joe was born on September 12, 1931 in Maypearl, Texas and was delivered by his grandfather, Dr. John Henry Curby. He was the only child of Loyd and Elizabeth Curby. His early years growing up on Farley Street, he and his "brothers and sisters" would walk to Marvin Elementary. He graduated in 1949 from Waxahachie High School and attended ACC for one year. He then returned to live in Ft Worth and started his career in the Department of Agriculture giving the market report on KAND.

Joe met and married the love of his life, Sally Jo Pannill of Ennis, on October 6, 1955. Joe had a long career in banking which included working at Citizens National Bank and was the Executive President of the Red Oak State Bank. He also built houses during that time. Joe was a long time member of the Church of Christ. His body was donated to science at the Southwest Medical Center. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather (Papa Joe) and great grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sally Curby; 3 children and their spouses; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Maypearl Church of Christ at 11 AM followed by a private ceremony at Auburn Cemetery.
