Joan Johnson

Joan Elizabeth Johnson, 54 of Waxahachie, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Melvin and Dorotha Wolfe Loveless on August 23, 1957 in Waxahachie. Joan enjoyed attending her daughters softball games and was always a favorite booster and band Mom. She enjoyed dancing and loved spending time at home with her girls. She worked in the same industry for 21 years, currently being employed with Kirby-Smith Machinery in Dallas and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie. Joan fought a courageous battle with colon cancer for 14 months. She will be forever missed and continually loved. She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Brashear and her husband, Steven of Mansfield, Erika Johnson of Waxahachie, Lauren Johnson of Waxahachie; her sister, Leigh Ann Richards and her husband, Mike of Irving; her brother, Clif Loveless and his wife, Judy of Waxahachie; Joan's parents, Melvin and Dorotha Loveless of Waxahachie; and her former husband and friend, Tim Johnson of Waxahachie; Joan is also survived by her grandson, Easton Maddox of Mansfield. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Chaplain Jerry Bloomfield officiating. Private family interment will follow the service. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
