Jo Nell "Jodi" Pate, age 49
November 17, 1956
March 8, 2006

Mrs. Pate passed away Wednesday at her Palestine, TX. residence. She was born in Dallas to Tom Huckeba and Betty Haldeman (Batchelor) Huckeba. Jodi was raised in Red Oak and attended Red Oak Schools. She married Glen Pate in 1973, also in Red Oak. Mrs. Pate received a heart transplant in 1988. She retired from Southwestern Bell in 2004. Jodi loved animals, cooking, gardening, nature and music.

Her survivors include: her husband, Glen Pate of Palestine; mother, Betty Haldeman Batchelor of Waxahachie; son and daughter-in-law, J. Michael and Lauren Pate of Red Oak; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Chris Hyndman of Waxahachie; brothers, James Junkin, Lee Junkin, Thomas Huckeba and Nelson Huckeba; sisters, Linda Woodard and Paty Martin; grandchildren, Logan and Andrew Pate, Allyson and Clayton Hyndman. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Larry Hilburn.

The family will receive friends and relatives 5-7 PM Saturday at the Red Oak Boze Family Funeral Home, 120 N. Hwy. 342, Red Oak, TX. The Celebration of her Life will be 2 PM Sunday, March 12, 2006, in the Chapel of the Funeral Home with Chris Marchbanks officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Gowin, Robert Gowin, Shane Bernard, Kenneth Taylor, Tommy Beggs, and Cecil Choate. Interment will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery.
