JoAnn Mathers

December 12, 1937 — November 1, 2024

Maypearl, Texas

JoAnn Mathers received her angel wings on the morning of November 1, 2024 and was received by the Lord and Savior and reunited with her husband Tommy after 8 years. She was born on December 12, 1937 to Loyd and Ruby Curts in Midlothian where she grew up and attended Midlothian schools. She married Tommy Mathers on July 26, 1957 and moved to Maypearl where they raised their 4 children. JoAnn loved the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maypearl. She retired from the First State Bank (later becoming the Cowboy Bank of Texas) where she worked for over 40 years and was an active member of the Board of Directors and a Shareholder. JoAnn served as the Mayor of the city of Maypearl and was a member of DAR, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Oak Branch Cemetery Association, Maypearl Service Club and many others. She was a loving and caring Christian loved by so many. Her dedication to helping others was unprecedented. JoAnn was a true gift from God and loved her family and friends beyond measure. Her absence will be a forever void for so many.

JoAnn leaves behind her four children Rodney Mathers and wife Lana, Laurie Montanez, Eddy Mathers and wife Debbie, and Greg Mathers and his wife, Patti, all of Maypearl. Also survived are grandchildren, Amanda Williams, Chelsea Mathers, Stephen Evans, Kathy Williams, Cheyenne Montanez, Garrett Mathers, Katelyn Ellis, Madison Fulton and Mason Mathers, along with their spouses; and great Grandchildren, Lyberti, Lynlee, Luke and Leevi Evans, Blake and Henley Williams, Brennan Coker; Avery, Cooper & Gunner Williams, Gage Mathers, Elsie Fulton, Charlee Mathers and Coastal Ellis.
