Jimmy Mac Stoffregen

July 15, 1943 — November 3, 2024

Dawson, Texas

Jimmy Mac Stoffregen went to his new home in Glory on November 3,2024 in Waxahachie, Ellis Co. Texas. at the age of 81. Jimmy was born on July 15,1943 in Waxahachie, Ellis Co. Texas. He battled with Frontotemporal Dementia for several years. This disease may have robbed him of his mind and his words, but it never robbed him of the love he felt for his wife Jeanette. He knew her and loved her up until the very end. He touched the hearts and lives of everyone he met.

Jim was the most fun-loving man on the planet. His joy was infectious! Jim never met a stranger. He treated everyone as though he had known them all his life. His smile and love for life was obvious to everyone. When Jim and Jeanette married he stepped into the role of dad and grandpa when he didn’t have to and set the bar so high no one could compare. He taught his grandkids how to give the best bear hugs, and that there was always time to joke or go on a three-hour tour. He was never in a hurry and lived by his own clock because he appreciated life to the fullest. He taught us to slow down, enjoy life, love, and laugh often. He taught us to have faith and to never worry.

Jim and Jeanette were members of The Cowboy Church of Ellis Co. until they moved to Dawson, Texas where they then joined the Cowboy Church of Corsicana.

Jim retired from Hunter Engineering. Jim and Jeanette later began, owned and operated A Big Toy RV and Mini Storage in Waxahachie until they retired.

Jim loved duck hunting and was a long-time member of Ducks Unlimited. He also was actively involved in the Waxahachie Lions Club. Buying more guns and hunting with his cherished dogs was more than a hobby. Jimmy enjoyed playing “Knock” and picking on those he loved. He was also seen frequenting many restaurant hangouts. Whether it be breakfast, brunch or lunch you were sure to find him laughing with new and old friends.

Jim is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jeanette; daughters, Kelly Kemper, Lisa Ricketts and husband David, Vicki Thompson and husband Troy, Anjanette Jones and husband Carey; son Barry Stoffregen and his wife Gerri; grandsons, Dillon Stoffregen, Joshua Ricketts, Jonathan Ricketts, Hayden Jones; granddaughters, Kayla Arnold and husband Peter, Kimberly Mecom and husband Zac, Elizabeth Ricketts and Casey Jones; great grandchildren, Howard Mecom, Kenneth Mecom, and Ryder Willis; and his brothers Teddy Stoffregen and Bill Stoffregen; sister Nancy Cunningham and husband Paul; and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Sally Banks Stoffregen and his brother Tommy Stoffregen.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Waxahachie, Tx at The Cowboy Church of Ellis Co. on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 11am.
