Jimmy Marek

Jimmy Marek, 64 of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 in a Dallas Hospital. He was born August 4, 1948 in Shiner, Texas to the late Jim and Adella Grossman Marek. Jim was an accomplished musician and could play most any instrument, including the guitar and drums. His favorite past time was wood working and fishing. Jim loved his family and spending time with them. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Marek of Waxahachie; his daughters, Kriss Dyer and her husband, Glen, Amy Burnett and her husband, Wes of Waxahachie; his sisters, Dorothy Russell of Texarkana, AR, Adella Marek; by his brother, Robert Marek and his wife, Vicki of Grand Prairie; also by 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Cole, Haley Ryan, Cody Brown, Daniel Burnett, Tori Hughes, Clayton Cochran, Baylee Burnett; also by his great grandson, Noah Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Adella Marek; and also by his brother, Eddie Marek. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
